“Her energy was just calming, she has an ease about her. She definitely has a healing spirit.”
Welcome, My name is Jaclyn Demars, and I am a Guided Grief Support Practitioner, Peer Support Specialist, Professional Recovery Coach, and Life Coach. I incorporate art support and Craniosacral practices into the healing journey to help people reconnect with themselves after loss, trauma, and life-altering change.
A little about my grief journey, before the age of 35, I was widowed twice. In the same year I lost my first husband, I also lost my brother and his wife in a tragic car accident, and only months later, I lost my oldest sister. Loss did not visit my life gently. It arrived like a storm that tore through everything I knew.
Grief is not always caused by death. Grief can come from divorce, addiction, illness, identity changes, broken relationships, losing a job, moving away, or watching someone you love become someone unfamiliar to you.
As a member of the LGBTQ+ community, I understand how deeply personal transformation and identity can affect not only the individual, but everyone who loves them. Grief comes in many forms, and every person carries it differently.
I created Year One Coaching for those who have experienced profound loss and are trying to find themselves again afterward.
The first year can feel unbearable, full of triggers, silence, loneliness, anger, exhaustion, and confusion. Year One Coaching represents the moment grief hits and life as you know it ends… but also the painful yet beautiful beginning of learning how to live again.
After everything I have experienced in my life, grief has carved me into a stronger and more confident person. I will always carry scars, but I have learned that healing does not mean forgetting. It means learning how to carry your grief without letting it bury you. Sometimes grief is quiet, messy, and simply means choosing to keep going. I am here to help guide you through your grief journey with compassion, honesty, and support while helping you grow and empower yourself.
Part of my practice is creating art with you helping you take a simple bowl of gemstones, beads, and string and transform them into meaningful keepsakes. Together we can also create sun catchers that fill your home with light, hope, and beauty. ‘When words fail, art speaks.’
I would love to sit with you, hear your story, and create something beautiful together. I also have an emotional support dog named Ziggy. He is a sweet little black Shih Tzu puppy with the gentlest heart. Ziggy loves curling up beside people, resting quietly at your feet, or sitting in your lap while we talk. He believes everyone deserves unconditional love, and somehow he always seems to know exactly when someone needs it most.
If you are ready to begin healing, or if you simply need someone to sit beside you while you find your way through the darkness, I am here.
